A few years ago, a friend attended a Black History Month wine tasting which featured black-owned wines. I loved this idea and asked her to write about it for the blog. Since then, I have made an effort to support black-owned wineries. I have discovered quite a few over the past few years. Therefore, I decided to do an updated blog post on black-owned wineries and businesses in 2020. Since then I have been adding to this list and it has grown to 50+ businesses! It has also led to the collaboration of two Holiday Gift Guides of wine & spirit themed gifts featuring Black-owned businesses.
This list of black-owned wineries & businesses also includes a few podcasts that feature black winemakers. Listening to podcasts is a great way to get familiar with these winemakers and their wines. In addition, if you enjoy attending wine events, check out the list at the end of this blog post. Plan a trip to one of these wine events that promote diversity & inclusion in the wine industry.

So, what do you think of this list of black-owned wineries? Can you believe this is just a partial list? There are other black winemakers out there but I thought this was a great start. Have you tried any of these black-owned wines or supported any of the black wine businesses or events listed? If you haven’t, what better time to show support than during Black History Month!
Before you leave, you can show me some support by purchasing my Ebooks! They are available on Amazon. There are destination guides to cities all over the world for food & wine lovers and a USA wine guide that describes the major wine regions in the USA.
