I am excited to finally write a restaurant guide on Black-Owned restaurants in Atlanta. For the past few months you have probably seen a lot of posts supporting Black-Owned businesses. In February I actually wrote a list of Black-Owned Wineries & Businesses. The truth is I have been living in Atlanta for 8 years and have always made a point of supporting Black-Owned restaurants in Atlanta.
In terms of Atlanta and restaurant guides, I have written my share. You will find posts on my picks on the best overall restaurants in Atlanta, the best brunch spots in Atlanta, best burger restaurants and reviews of annual food & wine festivals. However, although I have been a loyal supporter of Black-Owned restaurants in Atlanta, I have not written a dedicated blog post on this topic, until now. It is never too late to show support for Atlanta black-owned restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, pizzerias, & ice cream parlors.

Since it is the South you can expect to find delicious soul food and southern food at all these restaurants. Expect crispy fried chicken, shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese appetizers, scrumptious macaroni and cheese, fluffy biscuits with warm butter, fried chicken with waffles, collard greens, deviled eggs and so much more. But, you can also indulge in delicious seafood, Caribbean food, gourmet pizza, BBG and vegan food.
This list is great if you live in Atlanta or if you are visiting the area. Half of the list is comprised of Atlanta Black-Owned restaurants that I have patronized and personally enjoyed. The other half are Black-Owned restaurants in Atlanta on my to-visit list based on word of mouth and great reviews. They are all located within Atlanta and the surrounding suburbs.
July 2020: Due to COVID19 & Atlanta Restrictions, some restaurants may be closed or offering limited service, outdoor dining or takeout or delivery service only. Please call or check the websites.
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the list. I have included information from fellow bloggers on black-owned restaurants in other US cities!
