The St.Regis Atlanta: Winter Wonderland Afternoon Tea With Santa (+GIVEAWAY!)

The St.Regis Atlanta Winter Wonderland Afternoon Tea with Santa Claus. Holiday event in Atlanta. Tealeaves teas

Although this post was sponsored by TEALEAVES and The St.Regis Atlanta, all opinions expressed in this post are my own

It is the most, wonderful time, of the year! I had the pleasure of attending a special afternoon tea at The St.Regis Atlanta. It has a Winter Wonderland theme this year and is called “Tea with Santa”. During the holiday season, this special afternoon tea includes a visit from Santa Claus! TEALEAVES is the premier luxury tea brand for several five star hotels including The St.Regis Atlanta. They are currently running a “Nutcracker Afternoon Tea” campaign which showcases their limited edition Nutcracker blends. With traditional afternoon tea delights from The St.Regis Atlanta and unique flavors from TEALEAVES, this was a memorable event!

My cousin and I in the lobby at The St.Regis Atlanta

The St.Regis Atlanta has beautiful holiday decor. There is a large Christmas tree and gingerbread cottage in the lobby and garlands on the majestic staircase. During the Winter Wonderland Tea With Santa, we were treated to live music by a pianist playing popular holiday tunes. Santa Claus and his elf visited all the tables spreading Christmas cheer. They also played games with the children. It was wonderful watching their delighted faces.

Santa sighting 🙂

Once we were seated, our hostess described the different types of tea. There were so many yummy teas to choose from! Our first pick was the TEALEAVES Nutcracker limited edition blend. It is described as “dreamy hazelnut with sweet vanilla”. Our second pick was “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party”. This tea is a combination of passion fruit, pomegranate & vanilla. Both teas were aromatic, smooth and flavorful.

Nutcracker tea with orange cranberry scone

Our first course consisted of cranberry and orange scones with jellies and clotted butter. Next came three tiers of quiche, delicate sandwiches and desserts. Traditionally you work your way down from top to bottom, savories to sweets. Under the savory selections I particularly enjoyed the truffle, spinach and Georgia Gouda Quiche, the Tasso Ham with house made pimiento cheese on whole grain bread, and the smoked salmon salad on brioche bread. All the sweets were delicious but the double chocolate & peppermint gateaux and the bourbon pecan pie were amazing!

As a chocoholic I was obligated to share this pic of the Double Chocolate & Peppermint Gateaux

We sat for quite some time enjoying the festive atmosphere and chatting with Santa Claus and his Elf about the holidays. The attendees also gathered in on singing Christmas carols while the Elf played a ukulele! Before departing The St.Regis Atlanta, be sure to check out the Astor Holiday Ice Rink. The outdoor pool is transformed into an ice skating rink with hot cocoa and s’mores available. The St.Regis Atlanta is a wonderful destination for the entire family during the holiday season.

    Hello Nadeen!

I have been to afternoon tea at The Wedgewood Hotel in Vancouver, Canada. To my delight they served green pear tea from TEALEAVES! I am already a big fan of TEALEAVES since first trying it a few years ago!

  • What’s your favorite time of the day? Since I am NOT a morning person 😏 sunset is my FAV! Here are some pics from Sunsets on 🌅 Miami Beach 🏖 last week. Take me back!! I ❤️Atlanta but we are landlocked. Definitely something that’s hard to get used to after living in Florida for 8 years. I will need to retire near the ocean or at least on a lake. Yes retire..I’m 50 now so I need to start thinking about retirement lol 😂

  • Time for a joyful post!! 😄#birthdaybehavior🎉 .
Today is my 50th Birthday 🥳!! (😳I still can’t believe that but age is just a number right?!)

I decided to escape the cold in Atlanta and head to a warm sunny beach. No matter where I am in the world 🌍 warm weather and the beach 🏖 always makes me happy 😊.

COVID-19 has caused cancellation, postponement and alterations of so many special occasions since year. But, I am so grateful to have made it thru 2020 and to be able to celebrate this birthday. To do it on on a beach is a bonus!

Please remember that if you decide to travel 🧳 do it safely. Research the destination you are going to and follow all the guidelines. Continue to wear masks 😷 and practice social distancing. I also recommend getting a COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available to you. You can read all about the vaccines and how to travel safely during the pandemic on my blog (links in my profile)

Where is your happy place?

  • This question has been lingering in my head since the events that occurred on January 6th. The assault on our nation’s Capitol by domestic terrorists. 😡😡

Although my platform is about affordable luxury travel, food, wine and as a physician I also discuss medical & health topics, I just can not ignore issues that affect my daily life, my country and the world I live in. All of those things affect whether I can function as a human being and perform my job as physician and a content creator. I also feel that having this platform is a chance to inform and educate others on what life is like from a Black woman’s perspective. There are not enough of us that have a platform to do this so I do not take it for granted. If what I say offend’s others or turns off brands, then they may not be a right fit for me to work with anyway. I always speak my mind and also tell the truth and I’m willing to listen to the point of view of other’s (as long as it’s not crazy talk 😉😉)

BUT I recognize that not everyone feels this way. There are MANY influencers who are afraid to use their platforms to speak out about anything they feel may scare away followers or brands. They don’t feel it’s their place or duty to discuss anything deemed “racial” or “political”. They would like to stick to their niches, be a happy distraction to all the noise in the world or not feel qualified to discuss the issues because they don’t know enough about them. They continue to post recipes, pics of puppies & pets while things burn 🔥 down around them.

But is it OK to not even acknowledge what’s going on? To not acknowledge the protests, murders, lives lost? Is it OK to not want to learn about the issues & better understand them? Is it OK to live in a bubble because these issues do not affect you or your family & followers?

I don’t believe everyone should be an activist. I don’t even consider myself to be one. But to turn a blind eye to social or political injustices is a privilege that a lot of people in this country just do not have.

What do you think?

  • This song by @childishgambino has been in my head all day. The words “This is America” has been repeating in my head over and over as I watched the events take place at the Capitol. Like WTF?!!!

I went from being full of excitement and relief over the Senate elections in Georgia last night to this disgraceful show of domestic terrorism today.

***What I saw....
Crowds of privileged fearless white people Trump supporters storm thru barriers and pass armed guards into the Capitol with large confederate flags and Trump flags taking over the Senate floor and offices of those who serve our government.

***What I didn’t see??!!!
I didn’t see any real effort to stop them! I saw gates being opened. I saw guards with guns but NO guns being drawn as they entered the Capitol and strolled up to the second floor. I didn’t see tear gas or rubber bullets. I didn’t see arrests as they sat in Nancy Pelosi’s office or on the Senate floor or taking equipment out the building.

If this were a group of BLM protestors or Black people what would have happened? Do I really need to tell you? DOA

Make no mistake. These are TERRORISTS. This was a COUP incited by a reckless and disgusting sore loser of a President that should be arrested and removed.

And the nerve of these Republican Senators and Representatives to still contest this election tonight and delay the ceremonial certification of votes?!!

This is a travesty of justice. This is not Democracy and we are a complete embarrassment to the rest of the world. Whatever “legacy” this dictator has/had should be ruined in history FOREVER!

January 20th can not come soon enough. If only the 25th amendment can be invoked. Please keep our President and VP elect safe. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

  • I’m so incredibly proud of my state today!!! I have had “Georgia on my mind” since 11/3!!! I knew we could do this but I was so nervous! I stayed up until 4am watching the results pour in. We turned BLUE again x 2!!!! I live in Atlanta and there is never any doubt that this area will be BlUE but Georgia is a deep red Southern state. For this to happen, to elect a Democratic President followed by not 1 but 2 Democratic Senators-one being Black and the other being Jewish is truly a miracle and a sign of the times!!!! Thank you to @staceyabrams and @fairfightaction !!!
This started over 2 years ago and justice has been served. We must continue this fight!!!!
